
Based in New Jersey, Michelle Tang is a narrative and documentary filmmaker, studying Psychology and Film Production at Princeton University. After teaching herself production by watching tutorials, Tang created her first film at 13 and was immediately captured by the act of bringing her stories to life.

Since then, Tang's films have screened at over 70 film festivals worldwide, including the Oscar-qualifying Woodstock Film Festival and the Mill Valley Film Festival, accruing over 30 awards. Notably, Tang is a two-time National Student Emmy nominee, a Scholastic American Visions Award finalist, and a YoungArts winner. In 2024, she was named an Emma Bowen Foundation Fellow and was accepted into the Gotham Film and Media Development Program. ​

Tang has interned at CNN and Fox News Media, editing news packages, elements, and show opens for air. Outside of production, she enjoys singing, baking sourdough bread, walking her dog, and playing tennis.
