Michelle Tang is a narrative and documentary filmmaker and a Princeton University graduate. She has edited over 100 projects across narrative films, documentaries, and trailers/promos, including work for Lionsgate, CNN, and Fox News Media. After teaching herself production by watching tutorials, Tang created her first film at 13 and was immediately captured by the act of bringing her stories to life.
Since then, Tang's films have screened at over 70 film festivals worldwide, including the Oscar-qualifying Woodstock Film Festival and the Mill Valley Film Festival, accruing over 30 awards. Notably, Tang is a two-time National Student Emmy nominee, a Scholastic American Visions Award finalist, and a YoungArts winner. In 2024, she was named an Emma Bowen Foundation Fellow and a Gotham Film and Media Career Development Fellow. Outside of filmmaking, she enjoys singing, baking sourdough bread, walking her dog, and playing tennis.
